NEW Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Arizona

Arizona is proud to welcome the fourth and newest Cancer Treatment Centers of America hospital, CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center (Western) located in Goodyear, Arizona, about 20 miles west of Phoenix. CTCA began construction of Western in October 2007. The decision to build a new facility in Arizona originated from thier patients' requests to build CTCA hospitals closer to their homes.

Since breaking ground, CTCA patients and their families have been actively involved in every step of the hospital design process. The goal has been to implement functional design elements that are most conducive to healing and wellness.

At CTCA, they are constantly looking for ways to expand their reach to help people living with cancer. The fourth and newest cancer hospital, CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center (Western), brings a revolutionary model of cancer care to the West.

The 213,000-square-foot-facility resides on a 25-acre site in Goodyear, Arizona, part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The hospital opened its doors on December 29, 2008 and promises another sanctuary of hope and healing for people fighting cancer.

Estrella Falls Super Regional Mall in Goodyear

As the Southwest Valley’s first super regional shopping center, Estrella Falls is poised to make Goodyear a prime regional destination. Spanning more than 300 acres, the entire project will bring 2 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment upon build out.

Estrella Falls comprises a power center, super regional shopping center, expansive public spaces and parks, residential, office and hotel developments, and dynamic public art and entertainment. Bullard Wash Linear Park runs north-south between the mall and the power center providing an active outdoor amenity for all ages.

The retail project will open in phases starting with the power center which opened in 2008. It is located west of the main mall area with entrances off McDowell Road or PebbleCreek Parkway. The super regional mall will follow along with additional commercial developments in response to market demand.

Westcor announced it has plans on opening its Estrella Falls Super Regional Mall in Goodyear in the fall of 2011. The huge project has some delay amid the recession. "It's not an easy decision to come to, but we think it's the right decision," said Garrett Newland, development vice president for Westcor.

Newland said financing for the 107-acre outdoor mall is solid but retailers are unwilling to open in 2010, given the market conditions. Estrella Falls is planned northeast of PebbleCreek Parkway and McDowell Road in Goodyear.

Some of the great places to shop at Estrella Falls Mall will be Dillard's, Macy's and Harkins Theatres who have signed on as anchors. Other great stores will include Coach, White House/Black Market, Industrial Rideshop, and Chico’s to name a few.

This project is part of a larger 330 acre, mixed-use development that is expected to be build out over a 10 to 15 year peroid.
